Privacy Policy

I Need does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services. Everything you put into the app stays on your device and in your own iCloud.

What the app stores

I Need stores the things you add to it: list items and their titles, due dates and reminders, the lists you organise them into, and the names of the people in your household. This is kept on your device, and — if you have iCloud enabled — in your personal iCloud account.

Who can see it

You can. Anyone you explicitly invite to a shared list can see that list. Nobody else, including the developer, has access to it. Data synced through iCloud is stored in your own private iCloud database, governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer cannot read it, and receives no copy of it.

Voice and speech

When you speak into the app, transcription runs on your device wherever iOS supports on-device speech recognition — which is the case on current iPhones and iPads in English. Where iOS does not support it, iOS may process the audio through Apple's own speech recognition service instead. That is an Apple system service; it is not a server belonging to this app, and the developer never receives the audio or the transcript. Audio is never recorded to a file. The step that turns what you said into list items always runs on your device, using Apple's on-device model.

What is not collected

• No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
• No crash-reporting or telemetry services
• No third-party SDKs
• No location data
• No contacts, photos, or calendar access
• No email address, name, or any other identifier collected by the developer

There is no account system. The app has no server of its own, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent.

Permissions the app asks for

• Microphone — so you can speak an item instead of typing it. Used only while you are actively recording.
• Speech recognition — to turn that speech into text, on your device where iOS supports it.
• Notifications — to deliver reminders you set yourself.

Each is optional. Declining any of them leaves the rest of the app fully usable.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included. Household members are simply names you type in; they are not accounts and are not registered anywhere.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes its data from your device. To remove data synced to iCloud, use Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on your device. Because the developer never receives your data, there is nothing held elsewhere to request the deletion of.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
